Guest guest
Hi there, everyone! I'm new to the list and have been following it for a little while to see whether it is something I'm interested in. I was attracted to the title because I'm interested in wholism - the integration of healing through body, mind, spirit and emotion. Food, taken on a purely physical level, is what we use most effectively to give us energy, I believe. Most foods will give us some kind of energy. (I do not consider coke or refined sugar or flour a source of food, so I'll have to leave that aside for the time being.) From my understanding of our bodies, we receive energy from most food provided we balance what we eat and the following things are happening: first, the food we eat is grown in soil that has not been depleted of minerals, second, we are drinking sufficient pure, clean water (a minimum of eight 8-oz glasses per day) to allow our bodies to function well enough to assimilate the food, third that each part of our system is functioning so that the digestive system does what it needs to do, fourth that we haven't had a lot of surgery in which parts of our bodies have been removed and lastly, that we haven't taken a lot of medical drugs which cannot be assimilated by the body and will cause the body to be constantly overworking in an attempt to get rid of them. Most of us are lacking in one or two of these criterea because we haven't always been conscious of how dangerous such things as most medications can be. We are only now starting to learn about that stuff. And, we haven't always been conscious of soil depletion. So, in order to counteract these things, in order to be in optimum health every day and have plenty of energy, it seems to me that it is essential to take some food supplements or live in the wilderness thousands of miles from industry and grow your own food. When I neglect to take my supplements - particularly antioxidants - my energy level goes way down. And taking whole foods or what are often called superfoods like algae, almonds, spirolina, etc. will definitely boost your energy. Finally, I would agree with Anukki that exercise is absolutely essential in raising your energy level. Food or exercise on its own without the other will not be very effective. Exercise, of course, helps your body to continue functioning properly so that you can assimilate the food. Energy taken from a spiritual perspective is pure energy because that's the energy that comes from having a vision and knowing your life purpose - or being at one with your perception of God. That knowledge will keep you going long after your normal physical energy runs out. On an emotional level, if you have things in your life you're not dealing with, that will zap a whole lot of energy from your body because it takes a lot of energy to deal with negative emotions. Fake it 'till you make it - try positive thinking until you actually find things to feel positive about. Or, when you first wake up in the morning, make a list of ten things you're grateful for. Intellectually, read a whole lot of books about whatever level you think you may be losing energy in - physical, emotional or spiritual. I apologize for using such a simplistic way of describing the functioning of the body. It works for me, though, to keep it simple so that I can understand it. I have healed myself of kidney infections, heart problems, liver dysfunction, gall stones, lung problems and I never catch flues or colds. I'm 51 years of age and have a lot to do in this world yet. So, in my simple way, I seem to be doing something right. **************************************************** Alice Hawke, Global Prosperity Connections telephone - 705-437-1577; facsimile - 705-437-2137 ****************************************************
