Guest guest
> My question is are there certain foods that seem to give you more energy > than others? And are there foods that actually feel like they drain you of > your energy? And could you give some examples of these. If you think of blue green algae as a food, then yes, it gives me energy. The thing I use to give me energy is exercise. If I have a class later in the day, I begin the day with a half hour on the Nordic Track, knowing I will be all invigorated well into the evening. There are several foods that contain caffeine that give me a temporary burst of energy and then leave me depleted. I use these as an emergency measure, and only when I know I will have time later to sleep off the aftereffects. Chocolate and Coke-- two examples. Guest guest
Hey everyone, I just wanted to write and say Thank You for all the wonderful responses and info on energy and foods. The reason I had asked the question is because some days when I get up i'm just really tired. I feel like all I want to do is sleep. And i'm really beginning to wander if it is my way of eating. You know if you eat something real heavy the night before you go to sleep and well it's still with you in the morning. yucky feeling. I'm going to try and start listing what I eat and keep a log of how it makes me feel. Maybe that way I can find out exactly what foods I need to be eating. As some have mentioned really try and get intuned with what my body wants and not just my eyes. Thanks again. Blessings and Love, Leslie _____________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Guest guest
Leslie, Regarding foods, live food (raw, uncooked)probably give the most energy. Also, you should not eat too close to bedtime. Most experts say not to eat after 7 PM. A book you may want to check out is " Eat Right for Your Type " (according to your blood type) by naturopath Peter D'Adamo. At amazon.com, a lot of customers have posted with good results, plus dadamo has a website: www.dadamo.com. If you think it's food that's making you tired, it may also be a food allergy. Good luck. Yeah, but how do you keep it from struggling or even biting you back? I figured it was one of those deals where you get really ill before you get better. So I stuck with it for 3 months!!! Never again...My skin and digestive problems were 2-3 times worse. I wouldn't recommend it. Angie

I do have food allergies, and perhaps that had something to do with it. Yet you know what stopped me from having this problem? Yoga. If I did yoga the night before, I would bounce out of bed the next morning. It's amazing! Angie

My husband, a Type A, has been doing the same, and he too has improved significantly -- the heartburn that he used to have every night after dinner is completely gone.
