Guest guest
Michelle: I'm glad you asked ;-) Therapeutic Touch is a specific modality created and named by Dolores Kreiger and Dora Kunz in the early 1970s in New York, while Dolores, a PhD RN, was a professor at NYU. Dora is a natural healer, and together, with analysis of natural healing techniques coupled with the nursing process, they created a five step method for healing work, and named it Therapeutic Touch. Now, a quarter century later, they are managed by Nurse Healers' Professional Associates International. Here is their website: http://www.therapeutic-touch.org/ Therapeutic Touch was one of the first techniques learned by Janet Mentgen, the founder of Healing Touch, and she considers it the trunk of the program's tree of modalities. Healing Touch is a program that was piloted by the American Holistic Nurses' Association in 1989 (Janet is an RN), and is a program inclusive of not only TT, but also work by Brugh Joy, Rosalyn Bruyere, Barbara Brennan, and other healers that Janet has worked with, as well as techniques of her own. It is a multi levelled program that can lead towards certification through Healing Touch International. Here is the website of Colorado Center for Healing Touch, the base office for HT: http://www.healingtouch.net/ Both TT and HT are usually offered for contact hours for nurses and other healthcare professionals. Guest guest
Caroline, Thanks. I knew the two were related but didn't know how they differed. How would you yourself say they differ in practice. Would Healing Touch be more varied? Michelle _______ Get your free @ address at
