Get a good book on pregnancy and they will show you pictures of the phases of development from zygote to infant. Before any other organs or limbs develop, the brain and spine develop, and all the other structures arise from there. > > So if you want to do true Kundalini yoga, you imagine that energy, get a fix > on it, work on it, and begin raising it up your spine. You're right, the energy system has been added to and subtracted from by teachers and students as they feel their way through the system and their own understanding of it. This is not necessarily a bad thing; if we can look at things objectively and correlate the " baggage " as you put it, we can gain a larger understanding of the process without it becoming dogmatic or religious. Frankly, dogma does not make me feel too nostalgic, although history does support understanding. Without swallowing everyone's bill of goods, we can get what we need from the mix and leave the rest on the plate. I am not Buddhist, Taoist or Hindu, but amazingly, I still have chakras and I am interested in how they function ;-) Do you feel that accupuncture has lost its efficacy because of its separation from its dogmatic/religious roots to become a more medical-based therapy? -- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " -- Caroline Abreu, BS, RN, CHTP/I, CRMT B*A*L*A*N*C*E Awakening the Inner Healer with " A Nurturing Touch " http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/5114/

However, the point is still quite valid.....the Hundus ASSUMED that because this is the way the nervous system develops, the Kundalini power moves to the base of the spine during the process. THAT is what is important in the discussion. > I am not Buddhist, Taoist or Hindu, but amazingly, I still have > chakras and I am interested in how they function ;-) Now YOU are a bit sloppy...I know, we all get lots of posts and sometimes answer without being complete. In your case you should state " I still BELIEVE I have chakras. " Cheers, b
