Guest guest
Wow! What a treasure this list is. I've been looking for a mind-body connection mailing list for awhile now. Alas-here it is! Great! I hope to learn many new things here. It's good to be aboard. Let's see...My name is Angie. I'm 28, and I reside outside the Philadelphia area. I'm not a body therapist, but perhaps will be in the future. My main focus right now is unblocking my energy centers, so I can live with health and confidence. For nearly 10 years now I've suffered from digestive problems. Of course being the typical westerner, I went to doctors thinking they could cure me with a pill. I'm sure most of you realize, it doesn't work that way! It took me a long time to understand the power to heal lies within me. My ailments weren't a " curse " , as I once thought. It was a lesson telling me I needed to make changes in my life. I've found yoga, chanting, and massage to be helpful. Although to really break through, I know I need to go further. I need to take risks and truly believe I have power. These are 3rd chakra issues. (Digestive problems are a result of an unbalanced 3rd chakra) Yet to unblock my 3rd chakra, it's my understanding that I need to work on the 1st chakra first. I grew up intensely shy, and I always had this belief, that I didn't belong. So as a part of my 1st chakra exercise, I picture myself as a tree with my roots firmly into the ground. I repeat again and again to myself " I belong here...I belong here....I belong here... " It seems to help. Esp. in situations where I'd prefer to be less than visible. Does anyone have any further suggestions? I assume most people here are familiar with the chakras. For those that aren't check out- www.sacredcenters.com and/or www.jwdavies.com/chakras.htm Anyways, thanks for listening. p.s.- Did anyone catch Caroline Myss' workshop last weekend in Philadelphia? If so, how was it?
