Hi:

For the benefit of the new subbers today who are not on digest, a

couple of topics are starting to float:

1. What is your interest in the body-mind connection... have you read

or studied anything about it? How have you used that knowledge

personally? (Would be nice to know what people are hoping for as far

as the focus and flavor of this forum)

2. What recommendations does anyone have for someone new to NLP?

3. Do you have any recommendations for schools or correspondence

education on body-mind topics?

In Good Health,

Caro

My interest in the body-mind connection arises from my training in the

martial arts and my experience with sacred sexuality (see

http://www.sacredsexuality.net/). Personally, the bits and pieces that

I've learned as I've worked with my body have helped me to eliminate

body-negative programming, as well as increasing my overall health and

helping me to minimize the symptoms of fibromyalgia and to deal with the

minor day-to-day stresses that go along with having an office job.

The understanding that changing my body = changing my mind opened me to

exploring my own consciousness through movement and meditation.

>2. What recommendations does anyone have for someone new to NLP?

I've just started looking into NLP myself; and am reading Heart of the Mind

and Mindworks: NLP Tools for Building a Better Life. They're both

fascinating, and full of exercises that you can get started with

immediately. The first book focuses on applications of NLP to specific

problems (self-healing, weight loss, overcoming phobias, grieveing, etc),

where the second book I've mentioned gives an overview of the philosophical

groundwork behind NLP and explains the principles of NLP (and how they

work) down very simply and concisely.

No, but I would love to hear any suggestions that you receive!
