Guest guest
I've had it keep for up to two weeks in the fridge with no sign of going bad. It never lasts long enough around here for a "shelf life" test ) Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Holistics herbal remedies Thursday, August 09, 2001 2:50 AM [herbal remedies] lemon egg question does the mix keep and for how long? in the fridge?janice herbal remedies, "Ian Shillington N.D." <Dr.IanShillington@G...> wrote:> Ahhhhhh, you're in for a treat Michael. Guest guest
Do not boil the egg first under any circumstances. This will change the bio-chemical properties of the egg shell and make it "less" organic. The idea is to have assimilable "organic" calcium. Guest guest
I always boil mine after I make the lemon egg and the eggs taste just fine. Guest guest
Dear Sienna, You would get "some" absorbtion this way, but not enough to make it work fast or that efficently. The Lemon juice acts as a catalyst for complete assimilation into the body ;o) Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Infront herbal remedies Friday, February 21, 2003 9:47 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Lemon egg question Can you just eat the eggshelll? I used to put whole eggs, shell and all in my blender with fruit and yogurt. It blended quite well and didn't taste gritty. Is there a problem absorbing the calcium this way?Sienna
Guest guest
Dear Nil, The reason you don't want to use just the shell is that the inside of the shell has a membrane on it that contains albumin. It would not be horrendous to do it this way, but the whole idea is to have a mineral supplement without anything else mixed into it. Sometimes the egg shells crack and you get this anyway so it is not hurtful in any way, but you want to "try" to keep it as pure as possible. You will not hurt yourself with this formula regardless of how you screw it up. LOL ) In only using 2 eggs, you'd want to cover the eggs (over the top) with about a 1/4 of an inch of the lemon juice. Please realize that we are NOT talking rocket science here. You don't need to get into the significance of "how big the eggs are" or "should I use 2 or 3 oz of the lemon juice?", or anything else. If you use 5 or 6 eggs, try and cover the eggs with at least an inch of the juice. Even if you used an inch and 7/8ths, you're still going to come out with a great product. Get the idea???
