Guest guest
An asthma study from Tel-Aviv University reported that the antioxidant, lycopene, may be the answer to EIA (exercise induced asthma) problems (Allergy 00;55(12):1184-9). This was a short term study, but it showed thatout of twenty patients with EIA, 1/2 the group was given 30 mg. of lycopene a day for a week (equivalent to 3/4 of tomato sauce), and vs. the other 1/2 of controls, 55% had an improvement in their lung function (vs. 15% reduction in the controls) following a set exercise program. I thought that this may be of interest to those that were using the asthma " string-of-ailments-limiting-my recovery " " crutch " .
