He treasured it as one of the ingredients of AR-1, a formula he designed to reverse arthritis and rheumatism. To the burdock root he added yucca stalk, wild yam root, hydrangea, Brigham tea, chaparral, black walnut hulls, black cohosh root, wild lettuce leaves, sarsaparilla root, valerian root, and cayenne --herbs that detoxify and cleanse the body, remove calcium deposits, relieve pain, and kill infection. Over the years of his practice, Dr. Christopher saw remarkable and complete healing of even the most advanced arthritis. He always warned patients that healing would not be immediate, there was much rebuilding and healing to be accomplished. In addition to AR-1, he suggested that his patients use hot fomentations over extremely painful joints, a quart or two of kidney bean pod tea daily, faithful adherence to sound nutritional guidelines, and daily use of his BF & C formula. Dr. James Duke on arthritis in " The Green Pharmacy " mentioned Stinging Nettle and Urtication (the process of slapping onself with nettles). Ed Smith's booklet, Therapeutic Herb Manual, Arthritis and Gout Remedy: combine tinctures of: 22.5% Devil's Claw tuber (Harpagophytum procumbens) 22.5% Jamaican sarsaparilla root (Smilas omata) 20% Nettle mature seed 20% Burdock mature seed 7.5% Angelica root 7.5% Prickly Ash bark (Xanthoxylum clava-herculis) The Arthritis Remedy dosage: Acute: 3-5 times per day take 30-50 drops in a little water Chronic: 3 times per day take 20-40 drops in a little water. Turmeric contains curcumin - a substance that relieves inflammation as well as cortisone, but without the toxic side effects. Turmeric can releive inflamation of the joint and tendon injuries but also help ligaments and busitus and arthritus. To handle take 1 ounce per day in a glass of water. As a precautionary dose or to help ward off ostOeporosis, take a teaspoon a day in water. Or you can make the AMAZING TURMERIC TONIC ....AS FOLLOWS..... ALL ORGANIC 1 Part fresh chopped White Onions (or the hottest onions available) 1 Part fresh chopped Garlic Cloves 1 Part fresh grated Ginger Root 1 Part fresh grated Horseradish Root 1 Part fresh chopped Cayenne Peppers (or the hottest Peppers available) Fill a glass jar 3/4 of the way up with equal parts of the above chopped and grated herbs. Then fill to the top with raw, unfiltered, unbleached, undiluted apple cider vinegar. Close and shake vigorously and then top off the vinegar if necessary. Begin the formula on the NEW moon .Put in a cool dark place. Shake it at least once a day - three times if possible. Strain through clean white cotton (no bleach or detergents) and bottle on the FULL moon - approximately 14 days. If you can't find the Horseradish or any other ingredient, look in the Ethnic Stores in your area.....I use Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar as it is all of the above but if you can find a farmer making his own - Fantastic! To the above I add 1 Part Turmeric. When I add the turmeric it SMELLS awful and, when it is made, I keep it in the Fridge - shaking it each time I use it. But, as I takeTHE Tonic regularly - it means I keep up the Turmeric..... aMAZING tURMERIC Tonic stops most infections and gives you all the benefits of the garlic, etc. It destroys most viruses, bacteria and fungus on contact and helps break up and relieves congestion in the sinus and lungs. Helps relieve the common cold. Dosage - Gargle and swallow from one dropperful to one ounce as many times a day as needed. For a maintenance dose, I take it two or three times a day. I do have one question. I'm assuming you use ground turmeric? If not where do you find anything else? I liked Dr. Christopher's too, but may not be able to find all the ingredients.
