Just wondering if anyone is a bit worried about using anything that has 'animal ingredients' because of mad cow disease? Just curious.Patty

I didn't get what you meant by " Thymac tiv " , but I think there are

" sensationalist " and " fear mongers " on both sides of the proverbial " fence " , so

I don't believe everything that I hear about anything on face value only. Also I

put the company's reputation ahead of rumors, or " what some companies do " ; and

third, I place using glandulars on a keel with using hormones (natural), if it's

needed, use them, as you have let your body go further than a few herbs are

probably going to be able to bring you back from (ie. gallbladder removal - like

tonsils - not so benign an operation).

In Health,

Being worried about "mad cow disease" is not going to help much. There is apparently a natural law against cannibalism, and this disease is a recognizable outgrowth of forcing animals to eat of their own kind. A similar pattern has been observed among human cannibals in New Guinea, in a disease known as "kuru".

I'm reasonably certain that once this practice of forced cannibalism has been stopped, the disease manifestations will die off. That said, I am researching some of the implications of prion development, and I believe that means to prevent their spread through soil and other vectors will be discovered shortly. This whole problem may serve to prove the existence of "morphogenetic fields" as proposed by Rupert Sheldrake. It may also provide more proof for the effectiveness of homeopathy.

Nobody knows for sure on this point. Just within the past 2 weeks a new test for the prions associated with the disease has been announced out of Israel. Only after this test has been widely implemented will we have answers to this particular question.

The biggest problem is that the disease has a very long latency period -- between 10 and 20 years before symptoms fully manifest in most individuals. So everything on official channels is vague by necessity.

I am not sure what thymactiv is but they have found out that the growth hormones they gave kids had it. We have had two cases of Mad Cow in our area. It was extremely 'hush-hush'. One was in a nursing home and they did not tell the workers for quite some time. Patty

Where is your area approximately? I'm concerned because if you're in the USA we have a big problem here. However if you're in the UK this is to be expected at this time.

I am not sure what thymactiv is but they Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and toprescribe for your own health. We are not medical doctors although MDs are welcome to post here as long as they behave themselves. Any opinions put forth by the list members are exactly that, and any person following the advice of anyone posting here does so at their own risk. It is up to you to educate yourself. Odd coincidence -- today i just got a large paper on this subject, saying that it has happened in the USA already. One thing that's somewhat unclear, is whether there is a difference between prions that produce scrapie in sheep and "mad cow".

Some of the information circulating on this subject simply breeds hopelessness. I try to stay away from that kind of material, and instead focus on possible solutions. As a longtime student of electromagnetism, and one who has experienced electromagnetic therapy, it is my firm belief that this type of disease will respond to new electromagnetic techniques. Basically, this is low voltages at specific targeted frequencies. I stay in communication with a number of scientists who are working on this.

So far, no herbal remedies for mad cow have been proposed to my knowledge. Anyone who has information on that aspect, please let me know. Otherwise, this is an herbal list, so any further discussion of electromagnetic techniques should probably take place off list.

I adore Oregon and especially that area. I lived for a year up the McKenzie valley straight east of Eugene in the little town of VIDA and loved every moment of it. My favorite place in that neck of the woods is Rainbow = heaven on earth. I've often thought of retiring there. Retiring??? - Yeah right! :o) Maybe next lifetime.

Love,
