Thank you for replying. Amitriptaline has been a long used tried and true

anti-depressant and helps sleep. When I tried it, I had some side effect so

went off. I was on Zoloft, but the half life is so long it made the sleeping

worse so went off. It was great for my depression tho.

I have made a 100% effort to use herbs and supplement to help me but am failing.

I have Interstitial Cystitis, a bladder disease with no known cause or cure at

this time. I am up every hour througout the night to pee, (whether I drink

before bed or not) I know every restroom in a 30 mile radius, LOLOL ;(

Also, I went to a sleep center and was diagnosed with late onset of sleep,

(can't close mind down for hours), and with periodic limb movement. I got 43% of

sleep that night. The one thing I can take into my own control is to get

counciling from a slight depression due to a loss I can't get over, although

lack of sleep causes depression over time. Well, I have no insurance for

counceling, and sliding fees are still 50 dollars. Can't do it. SOOO, for the

meantime, I want to stay with herbal things IF possible.

Cindy, can you tell me what he did for your hormones? I am perimenopausal, and

take the female formula 2 weeks a month, but doesn't help sleep. I will try to

find the info you recommended. Thanks again..

The key here seems to be that loss you mentioned. I have found that

listening to music in the Lydian mode has been helpful for some in dealing

with such a loss. It may be difficult to find such an album. One that i

know of, is by a lady named Joyce Handler. The title is " Reflections of

Hope " . (I have a review of this album buried deep in my web site.

Hopefully it is still available.) Finding a local musician who can play in

Lydian for you may be a good option. Such a musician may also turn out to

be a good counselor too. When dealing with a loss, you really are dealing

with a spiritual problem, and physical handlings such as drugs don't usually

work. Music thus remains one of the few physical handlings available for

this condition.

In my own case, i tend to count insomnia as a blessing. I get up too early

in the morning & do email. But that doesn't work well with most job

schedules, so it can be a real problem.
