Guest guest
I have a big, beautiful Norweigan cat, Boogie, who it seems is dying. We had him to the emergency clinic & his bilirubin is off the page. A 3+ was the result of the test. His pee was bright orange, like B vitamins, but really concentrated. His weight has dropped down to 10 lbs, and he is dehydrated, even though he's drinking. The vet says we're talking up in the thousand dollar mark to save his life, and he also found a mass in the liver area. Boogie won't eat, and we have been force feeding him through a syringe. I did a search & found that even with vet care, he needs to be force fed, or have a feeding tube inserted for 7 weeks. We spent 100.00 to have him looked at, and no way can we afford aggressive treatments for him. We have started him on milk thistle, spirulina, hawthorne, CoQ10, and aerobic oxygen. I do have him segregated from the other animals, his own food, water, & litter pan, so I can keep an eye on what he's doing. He has not voided either way, bowels or urine now for 3 days and this concerns me. No longer does he purr, and he shrinks back when touched. I was shocked at the rapid deterioration with his condition. Boogie has a double coat, so it was not so obvious that he'd lost weight. The vet says that with this illness, it happens so rapidly, that you tend not to notice, and only two days before this he seemed normal. Has anyone ever dealt with this? Is there something else I could use on him? I can afford herbs & supplements, but not much over a couple of hundred dollars. I don't know what else to do... I've thought of using Rescue Remedy, but my husband is not convinced that there's anything to validate using it, in other words he thinks this stuff is over hyped. We don't want to lose this guy. He is our family's Christmas day kitty. Just showed up on our porch 3 years ago. We also easily turned him into an indoor cat, and he takes care of Bella, our elderly rescued cat. It's tough having a big heart & a small paycheque when you have animals that you love so much... Any suggestions appreciated...
