Guest guest
This is a leeeeeeeeeeetle off topic, but food should be your medicine, so with my twist - ed logic, maybe I can get some help. I am in zone 8 (?) Virginia, and planted tomatoes from seed, into the ground when they were seedlings in mid to late May. I used a product marketed as prehistoric by-product from Utah (I believe), and mulched wood chips with chicken poop when I planted. I have used a product by Plant-tone that is organic (ie. bone meal, manure, kelp, cocoa meal, etc. at a 5-3-3) heavily coating the ground, and a couple of times, and, I believe, in with the transplant. I've used a seaweed/fish emulsion 3 or 4 times (2-3-1), but haven't used anything recently. I watered every few days with a sprinkler, and (being in an apartment) the garden is congested with other herbs and veggies. It hasn't rained much around here, and when it does, it usually settles in for a few. We've caught some of the remnants coming out of the midwestern states last week, and it rained right much. Now, after all of that, pretty much everything is producing, and my " Ace " tomatoes have about 3 or 4 tomatoes on the vine (less the one that I just pulled off), but my " roma " is a wilder kinda bushy, and keeps gettink new foliage and blossoms, but have yet to get any sign of a tomatoe! Alot of the lower inner leaves or yellow now, and I guess that's from the lack of, to too much rain!? I think my carrot problem is from not thinning them early enough (about as big around as a quarter and about 2 1/2 " long with a long tap root)! The sun shifted come summer, so It gets kinda full sun for a better part of the morning, then the pecan tree, apartment, etc. blocks all the midday on sun. Thanks for any help, as I hate to see something so apparently healthy started from seed, flop! In Health, Steve
