Guest guest
Hello all... My mom is trying to avoid a hysterectomy due to uterine fibroids. She is using castor oil packs (with heat), and has given me this feedback: " I'm in my 3rd week of castor packs and my 1st day of them this week landed on the 3rd day of my menstral cycle. (Last night) I don't know if there's any connection, but my uterus area was cramping on me most of the day (not like regular cramps) and I felt especially lousy all day long. I think I'm going to skip the rest of this weeks packs and wait until next week to continue. I'm curious to see if I feel better tomorrow. Since I started the packs, I've had some minor cramping in my uterus and it feels tight. Sometimes the knots in my uterus feel down right hard. Which they rarely were before " Does anyone have experience and/or feedback on this? In my castor oil pack research the only side effect I have read about is possible rash, never anything along these lines... I have used them myself and had great results. Thanks a million Thessa
Guest guest
Unfortunately, my knowledge is very limited on this. However, I do recall my naturopathic doctor telling me NOT to use a castor oil pack while I am on my menstrual cycle. I'm sorry that I can't tell you the reasoning behind this. Perhaps she is becoming more conscious of the area? Perhaps she is using tooo much heat? I have used castor oil packs and they were very soothing. Perhaps they are loosening things up, getting the blood flowing? Perhaps it has nothing to do with the castor oil packs? love peela ===== May the long time sun shine upon you, all love suround you, and the pure light within you guide your way on. Guest guest
Thanks so much Niz and Peela, I will pass your thoughts on to her. I myself am wondering if things are "shifting" as well, maybe the packs have sparked some kind of cleansing action and therefore cleansing discomfort. If she ever does what she needs to and goes to see a naturopath maybe she won't have these problems.... >Peela >herbal remedies >herbal remedies >Re: [herbal remedies] Castor oil packs and uterine fibroids >Thu, 2 Aug 2001 21:05:23 -0700 (PDT) > >Since I started the packs, I've had some > > minor cramping in > > my uterus and it feels tight.
