Guest guest
I have not had the money to take the course I want to in Nutrition, but did find a place where I could plug in the foods and amounts and have it analyzed to see what foods I need to add to my diet to get the proper nutrition. Question number 1, why if my daily intake of food only yeilds 1/3 to 1/2 the calories recommended for my age, and I am moderately active, am I overweight. Question number 2, what is ash. I've never seen a nutrition chart that lists ash. I know all food produces ash when the body burns it, but what place does it have in a nutrition chart if it doesn't tell if it's acid or alkaline. Can you tell I'm completely at sea on this one? The question may not even make sense. Jennie
Guest guest
Dear Jennie, In regards Q#1: This is a tough one. There are not only physical and nutritional and genetic reasons why you could be over weight, but mental and spiritual reasons as well. I have a very good friend who was overweight and who handled it by disconnecting from a family member who was not only not supportive and encouraging of my friend, but was extremely critical and antagonistic to them. Dropped over 40 lbs in two months without any change of diet whatsoever simply by getting the negative influence out of his life. There's a lot of factors here to be considered. In re Q#2: Your question makes total sense. Ash. If you were to take any food and incinerate it and then remix it with distilled water, that ash mixture produced would be either Acid or Alkaline. Just because a food may contain acid in it does not mean it is acid ash producing IE. Oranges and certain other fruits Somewhere in the message archives there is a chart with most fruits and veggies covered. I remember the post. See if you can find it and bring it to my attention and I'll post it in the files for everyone's easy access. This is very pertinent data. If you or some other brave soul can't find it, let me know and I'll scan one of my charts and post it to the files. I'm glad you brought this up. Very important.
