Doc,

It doesn't mention sodium ascorbate or any other form of ascorbate except

ascorbic acid!

In Health,

Steve

ps - In a quick scan of several books, all that I found was sodium sensitive

individuals should be careful with buffered sodium ascorbate, but all sources

reitterate " ascorbic acid as the purest form.

Dear Steve,

Thanks for researching that. Perhaps that book of yours can answer my question

as to whether or not one should use Acorbic Acid or the salt Ascorbate form of

vitamin C and if there's a difference. I have always tended to go with the acid

form of a vitamin for myself as I personally get better assimilation when I do.

I'd be interested in others viewpoint on this as well.

Love,

Doc

Re:Re: Re:Re: [herbal remedies] Vit C flush - Greg

As far as I know, gout is caused by an overabundance of uric acid, not vitamin

C! As a matter of fact, in that same book previously referenced, it calls for

3-5 grams of vitamin C (in divided doses) to " lower serum uric acid levels " !

Hope that helps,

Steve

Couldn't this much VIT C trigger a gout attack? My brother had a virus coming

on and his dr recommended large doses of Vit C. He is prone to gout anyway, and

ended up in the hospital & was on crutches for a month. Lory

Thanks Steve, I think I'll modify the formula to use Ascorbic Acid instead of the ascorbate.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone has done this flush to add their two cents before I post it to the files.
