The rate is generally determined bythe level of glucose. The blood marker HbA1c is a good measure as it is actually a red blood cell which has an attachedglucose molecule. The average level of blood glucose can be calculated by (((HbA1c - 4) * 30) + 60. Mine is 4.9 and myfasting glucose is 80.Once protein becomes glycosylated and the glucose molecule is attacked by a free radical is can be attached / stuck toanother adjacent free radical attacked glycosylated protein.
