Guest guest
What would be a good herbal remedy to take for menstrual cramps? i've tried homeopathic remedies, cramp bark, dong quai, etc etc. Except that i always get REALLYbad cramps regardless. This happened when i was on, and off the pill. Currently i' am on the Pill , and my cramps are greatly reduced (before i felt like i was going t o pass out and throw up) but i still get them for the first day or so. thanks! -angela
Guest guest
The etc., etc., leaves one guessing, like does that include vitex (chaste berry), or black cohosh? I (obviously) can't speak on self experience, but there are several other possible additions or subtractions from your regimen depending on the etcs.! Guest guest
Hi Angela, A while back I had several periods with mild to moderate uncomfortable cramping. Just before the next period was due, I drunk several cups of pennyroyal tea, and voila, no cramps and none since. I think, as an emmenagogue, is just helped it all flow better. I have also tried Rosemary Gladstar's Cinnamon Ginger tea with some success in the past.- 1 part valerian 1 part cramp bark 1 part ginger root (fresh grated is best) 1/2 part cinnamon bark. I have read somewhere about just cinnamon and ginger tea too- its the warming effect that helps. Also, it helps to start taking anything before mentruation begins, before the cramps. Also, a good detox, the women's tonics etc, and making sure diet is good- no coffee/ tea/ sugar/ junk food- can make all the difference. A liver detox may help. good luck love Peela --- treehuggergirl25 wrote: > What would be a good herbal remedy to take for > menstrual cramps? i've tried > homeopathic remedies, cramp bark, dong quai, etc > etc. Except that i always > get REALLYbad cramps regardless.
