Guest guest
Dear Suzi, We are dealing with this right now and have been since May 6. A bakers cyst is, essentially, a rupture. The ortho doc of my husbands aspirated over 30cc's of amber liquid out of the cyst just to relieve the pain. He now takes glucosomine (2 gms) daily to keep the damage from worsening. The swelling in his leg is still very bad, but the doctor is giving it some time in hopes that the swelling leaves. If it does not, only surgery will get rid of the " cyst " , as they will simply trim away the rupture. In actuality the only thing that " cures " a bakers cyst is removal of it. The pain is awful, but the doctor has warned us that damage is damage and he may always have the pain (until a knee replacement), but the swelling of the leg, (from knee to ankle) cannot be allowed to go on much longer. With your fathers age perhaps you would want to have the cyst aspirated which would relieve alot of the pain. If he has no swelling that should take care of it until the next time (though sometimes that takes care of it permanently!) blessings, Janet E. Guest guest
Janet, Is the glucosomine working? I give my 11 year old lab who has arthritis this along with aspirin and it helps her. Guest guest
Suzi, Not with the pain or healing, but we are praying that it just stops more damage from forming. It'll be a long term issue, not short term. Blessings, janet -- In herbal remedies, Suzanne Nottmeier <suziesgoats> wrote: > > Janet, > Is the glucosomine working?
