Guest guest
Dear Valerie, Iam not Ian and would be interested in his response but - having gone through Menopause and coming out the otherside - i would like to throw my two bits worth in here. It was found that Estrogen Replacement Therapy prolonged Menopause for most women for two to three years longer. There was also a higher risk of cancer on those who took Hormone Replacements made chemically. I perticularly refer to the hormone that was extracted from tortured pregnant mares in Canada. I am not sure what hormones are in birth Control Pills. Probably chemically made. In spite of what the medical profession tell us about these pills, they are, in the long term, dmaging to the body's own endocrine system. I DO realize that a woman who doesn't want to get pregnant is a bit concerned about stopping the pill BUT, whilst she in ingesting artificial hormones, her whole body hormone balance will be OUT. The herbs one uses (and - having had a Hysterectomy and thrown full bore into Menpause - and a very bad Menopause I might add - I feel slightly qualified to give my opinion) BALANCE your own bodies ability to go thru Menopause. They ensure that you end up the other side as a fuller and better being. The HERBS DO WORK. They really do BUT they would be battleing against the imbalance of the Birth Pills. Herbs will STILL be more effective than ERT and much safer than any chemical made by man even if she continued the Pills.. If your friend can find no alternative to the Birth Pill, then, by all means use the Herbs but realize that they are not going to be so effective. The BEST thing for her to do is get her husband to have a vasectomy. If they do not intend to have any more kids, this is the best way. Then, let her go through a natural Menopause. N>B>>> It is also extremely advisable at this time to do the full Colon, Kidney and Liver Cleanse. This alone will help her passage through Menopause. As her body will be under some stress for the next two to three or maybe more years, get it cleaned out and functional. Also, now is the time for her to exercise. I can recommend the Yoga exercises and walking or other activities. Now is the time for her to re- evaluate her life and I recommend reading a book called " The Menopausal Years by Susan Weed..........Lots of love Penny
Guest guest
Penny, I would agree with you that Susun Weed's book is top of the line. However, some women develop deep bouts of depression unless herbals are used in peri-menopause and menopause. I happen to be one of these as was my mother. Without hormones and/or herbals my Mom attempted to take her own life. Though she was unsuccessful it certainly brought to light the tortures her body played on her. Being aware of that possibility gave me the opportunity to do some preparation herbally and I continue to depend on the Female Formula to keep me sane. On the other side, birth controls and herbals for hormone balancing don't jive. The whole point of a birth control pill is to keep your hormones in constant flux to keep you from getting pregnant. The balancing effects of the herbals might just cause what she is trying to avoid....a mid-life bambino. Just my thoughts. Back to lurking ;-) Janet
