Guest guest
Just a quick question here: Is anyone following Eat Right For Your Type? Just asking because I am investigating it since I have dairy and gluten intolerance. I am not interested so much in whether it helped with weight loss because I know for me that it since carbs and dairy are my trigger foods to begin with, but I would like to know whether you felt healthier once you began following the guidelines. Ian, any thoughts? Paulissa, " Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We say who am I to be successful, to fulfill my dreams, etc? Who are you NOT to? You are the sun in your universe. Why do we have this fear of being " powerful beyond measure " ? \\\\\///// ( @ @ ) ---oOOo---(_)---oOOo-----
Guest guest
Hi All! I just joined and this post is right up my alley :-) My family (me, dh, son, & daughter) are all type Os & we definitely feel better when on the blood type diet. Unfortunately, we find it really hard to stick to cause of the no wheat rule. I mean, a hamburger just isn't a hamburger w/o a bun. I do notice that when I eat bread (especially w/yeast) I immediately get a scratchy throat like I'm coming down with a cold. It usually disappears in an hour or two, but it's unpleasant when it's there. I've always been a meat-eater so that part is great. We spent 4 months in a community where there was no meat eaten & we were SO tired and our hair was falling out. As soon as we left & started eating meat again we were fine. This was before we knew about the blood type diet, but as soon as we saw it we went " Aha! " Anyway, that's my experience. Guest guest
I believe there is something to his writing. For example I know 3 people with serious hiatus hernia problems and they are all " O " 's . My father was an " A " and grew up on the exact same foods as my mother. On those foods he died from a heart attack at 51 years of age and my mother is now near 70 and her father on those same foods in 99 or 100 and his father lived to be 103. The difference was my father was an " A " and my mother, grandfather and great-grandfather were all " O " s. But they had arthritis problems and other things. When I worked as a Med. Tech. in Texas I cross matched blood for open heart surgeries. They did 3 or 4 a day. 90-95% of the people having open heart surgery at that hospital had an " A " blood type. On occasion there would be an " O " and once in a while a " B " . This all correlates with what he says in his book. I know that I do best on the diet outlined for " A " s and I am an " A " , and yet my husband does not do well on that same diet. He is a " B " I do believe that his evolution stuff is a little off and I'm not sure I can agree with everything he says. Raw fresh veggies and fruits we eat without his guide lines because they seem to be wrong. But on the " biggies " like wheat, dairy and meat, there does seem to be some correct analogies. The biggest problem with the diet for me is that because I am an " A " and my husband a " B " we have 7 children who are " A " . " B " , " AB " , and " O " . There is no way I can cook 4 different meals 3 times a day! Fortunately problems with diet don't start showing up until you are older and so I don't worry about most of the children. But even with that, recognizing the different blood types is really impossible for me until all the children are gone from our house. And even after they are gone, type A people are the opposite of type B people in many ways. I searched this out when I thought my husband might have cancer, and because I was having trouble with having large babies at birth (delivering 10-11 lb. babies) and was pregnant again. The diet helped me tremendously during the pregnancy and Ken was probably the most helped by the herbs. He wouldn't be that careful with the Eat Right for Your Type guidelines because he thought it was " quackery " . We used herbs for him and he is back to normal now. I still had a large baby, but my hips greatly improved and I didn't gain much weight with the pregnancy. Well, there's my two cents! Guest guest
I got right into it and I am type O. I have always preferred to be mostly vegetarian though, for ethical and health reasons,- but knowing I am O has helped, because what I learned was I need to eat a high protein diet- but it doesnt have to be meat. I am not strict, but I drink goats rather than cows milk, and try to minimise wheat, but I am not so fussy any more. Its too hard when my family just want pasta and pies and will only eat store wheat bread. But still, I found it useful, and I ask clients as a matter of interest and as a general guide. I know if my vego diet is not excellent for a while, I feel better when I have some fish or occasionally some red meat, but you can be a healthy vegetarian type 0. The thing I never resolved in myself about it was that sure type O's may come from hunter and gatherer stock, but its not like they lived long lives, as far as we know. So I dont see how imitating them is going to make us necessarily really healthy in the long run, particularly when we dont have the same lifestyle. I find the Blood type theory just that- an interesting theory. And it may work, but I am sceptical. peela Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions./
Guest guest
Yes, I researched that one too, and as with every other diet I've looked into (and tried), there is some truth to this one but it is not the be-all, end-all diet as it and all the rest try to convince us poor overbombarded consumers ;o) The "Fit for Life" diet works nicely for some people, and many have had success with the "Beverly Hills Diet" as well, not to mention, "The Metabolic Typing Diet", "Let's eat right to keep fit", "Atkins", etc. ad nauseum. Try convincing an Eskimo who has blood type "A" that he should only be eating greens and veggies and not eat all that whale blubber, and I think you may find you have a battle on your hands ) And if you did convince him, he would probably get deathly ill as well.
