Guest guest
is there any difference in taking a herb in tincture or capsule (ie powder) form. Does one get into the system any quicker? Holistics
Guest guest
I can answer this one! Yes, the tincture form is assimilated by the body faster. As a matter of fact if you hold the tincture in you mouth or under you tongue it can be absorbed there. There is no " digestion " needed by the body to utilize the tincture and it has a longer shelf life than the capsules. Capsules need to be digested before they can be absorbed by the body. If a person's digestive tract is compromised at all then there will be an affect in the assimilation. However, many people find capsules easier to take and there is no alcohol. They are quite inexpensive if you make you own as well. Guest guest
Hi, I use tinctures, but a Herbalist friend of mine uses powders (and capsules). She is very pure and vegan, and doesnt like the idea of ingesting alcohol. With the powders and capsules, you are getting the whole herb, rather than only what can be dissolved into the alcohol and water solution. Of course, that is balanced by the easier absorption of tinctures. I would use tinctures for acute stuff for sure, but long term stuff could be just as good with powders, I reckon, as long as your digestion is not too bad. It comes down to personal preference a fair bit, great herbalists have used either and both. love peela --- Holistics wrote: > is there any difference in taking a herb in tincture > or capsule (ie > powder) form.
