Guest guest
Hi, I take the female tonic. I sub. ginseng for hops bec. I can't afford the fatigue. I added small abount of milk thistles for my liver bec. it works overtime at this time of month. And I added a small amount of blue cohosh. Try 1500mg of calcium/mag each evening. You can also add maybe St John's Wort to the above mixture? I get PMS bad for about 10 days a month and I too, have tried alot. Some months are better than others. I get horrendous cramps that no herb can help. Heating pad and antiinflammatories. Hope this helps, or at least makes you feel you are not alone, ) Renee

Guest guest
Hi, I thought I was the only one with all these symptoms. I, too, get the severe moodiness and cramps. I keep trying the usual recommended herbs/vitamins, most of which have already mentioned. Now that I've had the endo removed I'm hoping they will work. I've been trying different combinations for years. I've now decided to try a progesterone cream for a while. Has anyone else used this? This is not my favorite idea, but I start to feel desperate when I have days that I can't function because of cramps and PMS. I've been doing a lot of reading lately and here are some more ideas I've come across. Liver herbs are important, as well as keeping the bowels moving(I get constipated about this time) to prevent reabsorption of the hormones your body is trying to eliminate. Black Haw is similar to Crampbark and may be more helpful to some. Passionflower for relaxation, especially those of us who have a hard time turning off our " heads " from constant thinking and planning. Do those of you taking the Female Tonic take it all month or just during PMS and cramps? Does anyone use herbs that help the pain? An herbal " ibupropen " (sp?)? I don't like taking this but sometimes, but sometimes a pill and a heating pad, like Renee said, are the only things that work. Guest guest
I get horrendous cramps that no herb can > help. > Thanks Renee. For cramps I have made up a mixture of Cramp Mark, Ginger, Cinnamon, Hops and Valerian, and it works really well. If you dont want the sedative effect, you could leave out the hops and valerian. The warming herbs can do it- I have heard simple cinnamon tea can help too, which is why I have cinnamon in my cramp mix. I also tried Pennyroyal tea a couple of days before my period is due, and it has helped with the flow really well,(its an emmenagogue, it increases and releases the flow) and I have had no cramps since doing that. love peela Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions./
Guest guest
Peela, Thank you. Leaving out the hops and valerian, can you tell me the porportions you use with the other ingredients? Thanks Happy Springtime!! Love, Reneé and Jerry
Guest guest
Hi Renee, I just used equal proportions, (so thats Cramp Bark, Cinnamon and Ginger) but you may like to adjust it for yourself. Also, it apparently works better if you start taking it the day before your period starts- or at least before the cramps start. love Peela --- rja86 wrote: > Peela, > Thank you.
