I remember seeing an herbal remedy a while back but i don't remember exactly what was in it. Anyone got any ideas?? I seem to recall it having tea tree oil and rosemary....... Guest guest
My cousin just e-mailed me and told me that if you rinse your kids hair with vinegar water every time they shampoo from now on, they won't ever get lice again.... I sure hope she is right, cause here I am passing it on. But I don't have kids in school anymore. My cousin works in a day care center every day. It's really hard to get out, but it really does the trick when nothing else seems to work. you have to wash your hair over and over again and then it eventually comes out. it's a real pain though, so try everything else first Irene Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
We have had a big head lice problem here in my area, as the lice grew immune to all the products, both herbal, essential oil, and toxic pharmaceutical. I tried them all. What ended up working was plain old cheap hair conditioner, you smother it on, put a cap on and leave it for a few hours or over night, then wash out. It smothers them. Olive oil does the same, apparently. But then you are supposed to do it every night for a week to catch all the eggs. But I just went through the hair very thoroughly every day and picked out the eggs- you have to do that no matter what formulation you use, hand pick out the eggs. Its a trip. I imagine the conditioner treatment is along the lines of the petroleum jelly treatment someone mentioned- but its actually good for the hair too, and easier to wash out. Good luck- and your kids probably dont even have them, but you never know. You can see them if you look, they hide behind the ears and the nape of the neck. love peela Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions./
Guest guest
You DON'T have to pick the eggs out if you use patroleum jelly. I would suggest this for guys only, since they have short hair, but with long hair it's hard to get out and you'd hate me so much if i didn't warn you ; ) Irene In a message dated 4/22/01 5:08:09 AM Eastern Daylight Time, herbal remedies writes: But I just went through the hair very thoroughly every day and picked out the eggs- you have to do that no matter what formulation you use, hand pick out the eggs. Guest guest
Tea Tree Oil and Rosemary in a base of Jojoba Oil or Organic Olive Oil should work fine. Plain ordinary Organic Castor Oil should do the trick nicely. Black Walnut Hull Tincture should be a step up from the above formulae. Now if you really wanna get tough on the little critters, your best bet would be to make an herbal oil combination as follows: - 1 Tablespoon of Black Walnut Hull powder. - 1 Tablespoon of Wormwood powder. - 1 Tablespoon of Rosemary powder - 1 Tablespoon of Tea Tree Oil - 1 Tablespoon of DMSO (USP Pharmaceutical grade) - 1 Cup of Castor Oil as your base. Let sit for a week or two and then strain and press. Should be dynamite even after you just mix it up so don't wait if you've got an immediate problem.
