Guest guest
I am very new to this list and have already gleemed alot of information. Some of it way over my head but I am learning. I had a maybe not so simple question...... I am looking into starting on the Female formula. My biggest concern is that I am currently on birth control, Depo to be exact, this has caused a little variance in my system do to the added or missing, however you care to look at it, hormones involved. The symptoms are mild I guess, alittle mood swing about every two months, decrease in sexual desire and minor weight gain. My PRIORITY here is the birth control so....... will the Female Formula offset the syptoms but not the effectiveness or will it dink with me even more to introduce this into my diet? I probably don't have to tell you that my doctor has NO CLUE to the answer. Any info would be great. Louise Younger
Guest guest
Louise, I'm certainly no expert here, but it would seem since the female formula is a " corrective " and is an aid to rebuilding a malfunctioning reproductive system and since allopathic birth control actually causes the reproductive system to " malfunction " by adding, subtracting or otherwise messing with the hormal balance I wouldn't think a female corrective would do much good. I must say the symptoms you mention are directly related to and side-effects of your birth control method. I may be wrong and am anxious to hear what Ian has to say. Blessings, Janet E. Guest guest
Dear Louise, Hmmmm, you are asking to try to offset naturally something that you are doing which is unnatural, so I am probably just as clueless as your MD on this answer. I can only offer you conjecture, and for what it's worth, it is an educated guess, but still only a guess. My "guess" is that the Female Formula would do one of two things for you. 1. The Female Formula would balance your hormones over the birth control pills but would render them ineffective thus making it more possible for you to get pregnant. or 2. The Female Formula in conjunction with the birth control pills would throw your system for such a loop that your hormones would go totally out of whack causing you to be fine one day and totally off the wall the next. My first bet would be #1, failing that #2, and failing that, God only knows. The American Indian Woman used to use fairly large amounts of Wild Yam rhizome as a natural birth control which reportedly worked very well though I've never tried it on any of my patients. Most of my patients in this area are trying to get pregnant, not stop it. This approach would also work very synergistically with the Female Formula (Wild Yam is one of its ingredients), and should balance your hormones beautifully while acting as a birth control as well. Heaven forbid you ever stop taking the formula though, as you would then become ultra fertile ;o) Hope this helps.
