Hi everyone,

I want to thank whoever is responsible for herbal snuff.

It seems to be giving me some relief. I have been fighting this

problem for so many years and have tried more than you can imagine.

This is the first time I have some relief and some hope.

I've used it a few times and I'm wondering is it okay to use whenever

necessary, or will I eventually not need it anymore, or is it

temporary relief or what? I hope this lasts. There is nothing better

in life than being free to breathe.

Thank you so much, Cathy

I believe it is originally Doc Christopher's formula which I posted to the files ages ago.

You can use it whenever necessary and if you start and continue on a health building nutritional program you can expect to wean yourself off of it eventually.

You're absolutely correct, it is great to be able to breath freely.

Love,

Here it is. Good luck. Cathy

Herbal Snuff

7 tablespoons of goldenseal root powder

7 tablespoons of bayberry bark

1 teaspoon of garlic powder or granules

1 teaspoon of 200,000 unit cayenne pepper powder or 1 tablespoon of

40,000 unit cayenne pepper powder.

Mix.

Put a small pinch on the back of the hand. Sniff up one nostril.

Quickly put a small pinch on the back of the hand and sniff up the

other nostril.

Lay down right away to avoid sneezing. Close eyes and relax.

Try to avoid sneezing as long as possible. Sometimes you may not

sneeze at all.

Finally sneeze if necessary or just get up.

This clears the sinuses and all the junk inside will either come out

from sneezing or when you blow your nose.

Relax afterwards for half an hour.

Hi,

A friend of mine has serious nasal problems and is eager to try the

Herbal Snuff. I have everything except the bayberry bark which needed

to be special ordered....is there a subsitute?

Goldenseal isn't cheap is it...I didn't have my glasses on and thought

it was 19.99 a pound...wow was I shocked when my little bag came to

38.00...I neglected to see one of the 9's...it's 199.99 a pound!

Yes it is expensive at first sight. I don't know why goldenseal is

so expensive but it is. When I made the recipe and saw how much it

made, it should last years ! Besides the fact that it can avoid

surgery. My nasal problems have been serious enough for surgery but

this has alleviated it so far so it's worth it. Good luck. Cathy

Where do you live that goldenseal is that much?? I got it from No Name

Nutrition here and it was 19.99 per lb. Still expensive but not outrageously

so.

There are lots of vendors for herbs out there and a wide range of prices. We

carry very high quality herbs, but have found excellent vendors and our prices

are much lower than the vendor you are using. I believe our prices are the best

on the internet. For example we sell goldenseal for around $85 a pound and you

can by it in 1/4 pound packages or 1/2 pound packages as well. Before you

purchase herbs you may want to check out other websites.

I'm in New Jersey and it was 199.00 a pound. I only bought a very

small amount. Why does it cost so much more than other herbs?

what are some websites I can order from that are less?

Thanks, Cathy

Cathy,

Goldenseal is a plant that has very specific requirements. It needs a soil rich

in organic matter that has filtered sun or partial sun. This plant has almost

become extinct in the wild. It is definately over harvested. The harvested

roots need to come from at least 3 year old plants as well. Lastly, it is a

great herb with wonderful properties. Definately one of my favorites. With the

high demand and low supply that makes the price is quite high. Many people are

growing their own.

As far as finding a supplier a simple search on any search engine for goldenseal

or bulk herbs will give you many hits.

I've heard and believe that garlic is in many cases a good substitute for goldenseal and as we all know much, much, much less expensive.

Julie,

My feeling is that the herbal snuff would probably do quite a bit of good without the Bayberry so why not mix a small amount and let your friend try it and see how it works. I think it would be better to try something right away than to wait for the other ingredient to be special ordered. The old saying "Something is better than nothing"

Just my opinion,

This is the first post I have ever read that was about using herbal

snuff. I cured a surgical sinus infection by using bayberry root bark

powder as an herbal snuff. I read about it in an old book from the

1930's, The Herbalist, by Joseph Meyer. It was also a little irritating

but it would initiate a sneezing and draining response. I started using

1/2 goldenseal root powder mixed with it and it became far less

irritating. PA
