Guest guest
Cathy, perhaps someone who is into Chinese Herbals can answer this one. I personally am overweight and am damp-hot, so I am eating drying, cooling foods in order to (hopefully ) lose weight....at least thats what CHINESE SYSTEM OF FOOD CURES Prevention & Remedies by Henry C. Lu , says. I sat up LATE last night trying to figure out which foods I could eat and went crosseyed trying to read charts, and realized the seasons for each food I want to eat was just too much for my tired self, so I went to bed and decided it was just going to have to work out the best it could with what I could figure out up to that point!!! I did get the rest of it. You'd probably LOVE this book Cathy. ..Love, Elaine - " cathy markowich " <cactus <herbal remedies > Monday, April 16, 2001 10:20 AM [herbal remedies] herbs to speed up metabolism > > Does anyone know if and what herbs can be used to speed up > metabolism? Guest guest
> Does anyone know if and what herbs can be used to speed up metabolism? Chickweed is supposed to be a mild stimulant and weight loss aide. I haven't tried it yet so can't say for sure. hth, Dena
Guest guest
I know you say he cant get exercise, but its usually possible if you are motivated. I found making the time for exercise (for me, its a walk before anyone else is awake in the morning -I have kids)- makes me feel much more relaxed and able to fit more into my day! love peela --- cathy markowich <cactus wrote: > > Does anyone know if and what herbs can be used to > speed up > metabolism? I'm sure that this person in spite of having a desk job gets a couple of coffee breaks and a lunch during the day. He could take one of those breaks and at least part of his lunch and at least get a walk in. He needs to pack some tennies in his desk drawer and get up and move away from that desk a few times a day. He would be amazed at much better he will be able to focus on his tasks and how much calmer he feels if he just takes that small amt of time for himself. After all, he is entitled to a break and lunch~what he uses them for is entirely up to him. I saw a quote the other day that read, " The only difference between FAT and FIT is I. " I kind of have a built-in walking trail right on the site of my job since I have become a funeral counselor. The funeral park is beautiful and since a good portion of my family is interred in various parts of the park, it is simple for me to get in 30 minutes of walking per day with no problem. Guest guest
Peela, I agree with you and I told him to make time for a walk etc. He did that for a while but then didn't keep up. Anyway your post reminded me of a funny experience I had about a year ago. I usually take my dog for a walk while the kids are in school during the day. One morning a long time ago I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and just couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to take a walk. I live in a semi rural area so there is a wildlife refuge across from me and I like to walk the road along side the woods. It's very peaceful. Normally I would take the dog along but she was snoring next to my husband so I went out by myself. A police car pulled up alongside and wanted to know why I was out so early and if I was lost. I told him I was just out for a walk and he said it's so early. Well he drove on and I saw him a while later, I think he was checking up on me. Since then if I go out early I always bring the dog. I never get questioned then. Maybe he should take walks too. Guest guest
You know. I am not the person they are referring to in the email. But I work at a job that doesn't give breaks or lunch. So not all are entitled to breaks. I just wanted to throw that one in there and I work 12 hours at a stretch.
