Guest guest
Dear Ian (or whoever may know), I am in Australia and I really want to make up the Total Nutrition formula, but I am confused about the yeast. I havnt heard of it- we have brewers yeast, Torula yeast and nutritional yeast flakes which someone mentioned and you said they were ok but the only ones I can find have salt added. So, its not brewers or Torula yeast, or is it? Or is it whatever type the nutritional yeast flakes are? I dont know if I am going to have any luck finding any salt free nutritional flakes here, but I want to know I am looking for the right stuff. Unfortunately the exchange rate isnt good with you guys in the states, or i would get some from there. I am trying to find some here- we have most things! Its also hard to get the powdered vegies, but I am having some luck I think there. But theres no point if I cant get the yeast. thanks love peela Get email at your own domain with Mail. http://personal.mail./
Guest guest
Dear Peela, It is called, Non-Active Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Nutritional Yeast. This yeast is grown on beets and pure molasses. It is the second highest source of complete protein in nature (50%), and the richest source of B Vitamins. It is also a rich source or Iron and many other minerals. The yeast is heated high enough to absolutely destroy any yeast activity, but not high enough to lessen the B Vitamin content. It is totally NON active and safe for patients with Candida Albicans or on yeast free diets. Guest guest
Sonya: It is better to not discontinue feeding at the breast and treat the nipple yeast while nursing. The baby will get nipple confusion with the bottles and then her nipples will be very sore from a bad latch. Right now the baby is getting fed way too much. About half an hour after a feeding the baby will always get crabby, cry and root around, as if he were hungry, but it's because he is tired. Just swaddle him and let him suck your finger while walking around or wear him and he will go right to sleep. Mom probably has plenty of milk, but she needs to get the baby on the breast no less often than every 3 hours. He was getting a bottle all the time I would say he needs no more than about 2.5 ounces every 3 hrs. depending on his weightLook for thrush in his mouth. Mom and babe have to be treated simultaneously. I will send you the protocol for yeast to your e-mail address. Vicky
