Guest guest
Good afternoon folks, Just a quick question...I know that stinging nettle is a good herb for boosting immunity and helping to keep bronchial passages clear. So this question may be silly but here goes anyway...my yard is overrun with this stuff in the summer months. How would one go about harvesting, drying etc so that this weed could actually be used?? Can anyone help me out here? Guest guest
Hi, Cut the stinging nettle off at the stock, gather it up with gloves, tie in bunches, hang to dry in the dark with some air ventilation. Use fresh or dried for tea. Works well for spring allergies and that is what it is mostly used for in my area. Good health! Carol Vickery/Tao Herb FarmPhone/Fax 250 357-2550Box 327 Salmo, B.C. I figured if I have to deal with it, might as well use it to stay healthy right?? Guest guest
Welcome Paulissa! Indeed I think our weeds are healthier to eat than the food in the stores. By the way if they do happen to sting you, break open burdock leaf stock and rub the juice from it on the sting, takes the pain out pretty quick. Often the 2 grow together. Happy gathering!
