Someone mentioned something about a type of tea that they gave their mother for emphysema and also congenital heart failure. Can you post how to make this please?Kristie

The tea I gave her all throughout the day the first day (and

thereafter for one week) was MULLEIN tea. I made it very strong

initially because she truly was at death's door and couldn't breathe.

I put a small fistful (about 1/2 cup) of mullein in a coffee filter, put

a garbage bag twist tie on it, threw it into a pot of boiling water, turned

the water off, let it steep 10 min (for medicinal value), and that was

that. I sweetened it with honey because I'm told it has a bitter

taste to it. I don't think it does. (I've had to mask the taste

for my daughter by adding peppermint to the mullein.) For the congestive

heart stuff, reread what Valorie suggested about Hawthorn berries.

Good luck!

If you can't find any in your area, and you can't find any buy ordering

it via the net (there are places to order it in bulk), I will send you

some. They do make mullein essential oil. You can put drops

of this in peppermint tea.

TY all soo much...you have all been so helpful in this group! I don't know

a lot about herbal remedies and would like to learn more about them. I am

still looking for a headache remedy. As I have a migraine I assume. It

hurts for a lot of light and about kills me when I go out into the sun. So

any information would be helpful!

Hi Kristie,

Have not contributed a thing as yet but will try, found the group as I noticed hits from it to my site so of course got curious!

Have you tried Feverfew? Have you tried Motherwort?

Have you tried taking chi energy in through simple excersise?

Is it related to period, if so some hormone balancing herbs could help.

Have you tried accupressure points, toxin ones and gallbaldder one as often related?

I can provide details on any of above you may or may not have tried.

Good health!

I am not sure what it is caused from. I am thinking maybe it is sinus as my

eyes hurt too but not really sure. Like I said before herbs are not readily

available in my area. There is one " health food shop " here in town and

that's it. They have mostly pills and not just the plain herb.

Hi,

I am wondering if you have heard of lymph gland massage therapy? For chronic sinus conditions, earaches, it works wonders and often regular massage therapists also have their certificate for it. If you clear of the bog so to speak everything should then run smoothly and may very well clear headache etc.

I tend to go for the cure of the problem versus just curing the symptom temporally.

Good health!

What area do you live in Kristie?

You might be surprised as to the herbs that are growing in your area and even in your own backyard.

Besides, there is usually someone on the list who is willing to trade one herb for another. Jamie is the Chaparral Queen of the list as she lives in AZ and has access to tons of the stuff whenever she walks out her front door. There are many others willing to trade just about any herb out there.

Dear Kristie,

Usually a sun related headache is caused by not enough essential fatty acids in your diet. 2 to 10 tablespoons of Flaxseed Oil or Udo's Oil will help to handle that. Other causes of Migraine are: 1. Not enough bowel movements. 2. Clogged or toxic bowel. 3. Clogged and / or toxic Liver/Gallbladder. 4. To much white sugar, white flour products, artificial sweeteners, and commercial hormone laden meats.

A thorough bowel cleansing program including a complete Liver/Gallbladder Flush and Cleanse program would probably straighten you right out.

On a short term basis and as a bandaid, you could be taking the Pain & Headache formula as listed in the files. This would give you some immediate relief but would still be just a bandaid. The terminated handling would be the cleanses as above and a major change in your diet which would include but is not limited to: 1. Organic Foods Only. 2. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. & 3. Fresh homemade juices. Additionally, I'd recommend: 1. A good exercise program. 2. A minimum of one hot bath a day (as hot as you can stand it) for at least a half an hour a day with 4 to 6 cups of herbal tea while in the tub.

There are other things as well but if you did all of the above you'd probably forget you ever had headaches.

Hope this helps.

Love,

Doc

Kristi,

I understand as we have to drive all the way to Albuquerque which is a 3 hour drive and has the nearest Health Food Stores to us.

It is challenging but we are getting the idea of how to shop once a month by making the drive into ALB once a month. We do

most of our major shopping and then pick up organic eggs and milk from a local farm and misc items from a regular store

(very few as there is almost nothing in a regular store that's on our diet) So if you want tips on how we manage this, let me

know and I'll tell you what has worked for us. I also plan on planting our own vegetable garden this summer.

Kristie,

I've had lots of personal successes with Prickley Pear and swear by it. Once I got bitten by a fire ant between my toes. The good ole immune system said fine and pretty much handled the bite except the next day I was again wearing sandals and got another fire ant bite between the same toes. This time the immune system did not handle it and it got red, swelled up and was itching like crazy. I was about to go to bed and knew I would be unable to sleep so went out into my front yard and picked a Prickley Pear pad. Luckily my cactus had only little brown spots of small needles that were far apart and easy to simply scrape off with a knife. Once the spines were all scrapped with the knife, I washed the pad and then sliced it in half lenghtwise like you fillet a fish. This exposes all the gooey inside of the cactus and this gooey stuff is magic. I wiped some between my toes and in seconds almost instantly there was no itching and the redness and swelling disappeared. I was amazyed. I went to bed in total comfort and the next day there was a slight sensation between my toes so I repeated the process and that was the end of those ant bites!!! I've heard stories where someone stepped into a whole ant hill at night and was covered with many bites and the Prickley Pear and Aloe was used to totally handle the bites. The spikey Prickley Pear would be a bit more challenging but I'll bet it would also work wonders.
