Guest guest
Hi, My name is Julie and I'm so glad that someone turned me on to this group...it's so interesting!! I'm relatively new to herbal medicine. I've always been interested I just never thought I would get into it seriously. Someone close to me has the hep C virus. The allopathic community offered so little support...it was pretty much a case of the dr. saying, " you're not too sick yet so we'll keep testing you and when you're sicker we'll zap you with all the chemicals we have at our disposal and see how that works " . Anyway it was very disheartening. I got a book that deals herbal treatment and support for people with HCV and one thing led to another and I'm now enrolled ina distance learning course. Not the one you mention Ian, but I am considering changing schools. I love what I'm learning and so many of the people who are into herbal medicine are so very generious in sharing what they know. I have a couple of questions: I'm going to plant an herbal garden. I don't have a super green thumb so I asked for help from the state. They have a program that hooks you up with a " master gardener " but they declined to help me stating, >> An issue for your type garden isthat it deals with medicinals, which means medical. Since that is not an area of our training, we are unable to work in that arena. Sorry we could not be of greater assistance.<< I wonder if they thought I want to grow medical marijuana? So is there anyone here who could help me with a few gardening questions? I'm in central CA. Next question. I was buying some dandelion extract the other day and there was an extract with the combination of dandelion and yellowdock. I'm wondering why they would be put together? Does the combination just make for a stronger liver support or is there another reason? Is there something else that should be combined with the dandelion to protect the kidney since dandelion is a diuretic? Can Dandelion root be dried sucessfully? Well once again I'm glad to be here...thanks in advance for any info...hope you all are having a glorious day!! ~enjoy Julie
