I am trying to find out about herbs and breastfeeding. Can anyone

tell me some herbs to avoid? I am really looking for a copious list

of no-nos ;) I am also looking for something to unwind with at the

end of the day... not alcohol... not smoke.

Thank you in advance for any leads or advice...

Love,

Michelle-Lee (and her aching-back...)

Hi Michelle-Lee!

You need to avoid all mint teas as they stop breastmilk

production. Fenugreek tea made from the seeds is GREAT

for milk production. To unwind, Lemon Balm is great.

Nettle tea is great in combination with Lemon balm and

gives needed minerals for breastmilk...

Dear Michelle-Lee,

Here's a start for you.

No No's

Poke Root.

Chaparral

Wormwood.

Good for you.

Cayenne

Garlic (in moderation)

Spirulina

Chlorella

Echinacea (in small quantities and used sporadically)

We should get a complete list here and research it for accuracy. Who else want to contribute to this list? I think it's a great idea.

Love,
