Hello Everyone,

I have a question for DR. Ian. In your opinion is it better

for someone with high blood sugar to eat a high protein, low carb

diet or the opposite? Allopathic doctors say go with high protein, and

one book I've read by a natural medicine doctor says to go with a

high carb diet, but no simple carbs. What do you tell your patients?

Also if anyone has been able to control their diabetes naturally

could you please tell what you've done? Thank you.

With much love,

Nijma

Hi Nimja,

I have been low carbing since 2/99. I was diagnosed a

TYPE II and really find that it stabilizes me. If I

don't get enough protein/healthy fats I'm a shaky

mess.

The higher protein lower carb diet is the way to go. Every diabetic should also be taking an enzyme supplement with each meal plus do a thorough Liver/Gallbladder Flush which tends to somewhat flush the pancreas as well. The most important herb for diabetics is Astragalus as it naturally balances blood sugar levels. Check out the Total Nutrition Formula in the files as this is excellent for diabetics.
