thanks for the suggestion. do you know where i can find the instructions for

the cleanse?

as for other remedies... i was doing really well with astragalus supplements

but then i ran out and so did the one health food store by me. I'm having my

brother mail some to me, but i havent had that for the past two or three

weeks... i've used some tiger balm when i sleep, tea tree oil down my neck

and outer ears. Also at night, have been taking an ephedra supplement with

white willow bark and ginger. Drinking peppermint and ginger teas.... the

congestion is finally loosening up a little, but the sinus pressure is

ridiculous and im pretty sure ive been running a fever at night. cant really

hear out of my left ear at the moment.

thanks so much

Dear Misha,

Whew, what a handful. Do you think you could be allergic to studying? ;o) I know I was at college age <joke>.

You gave lots of data below which I like as it is easier to then advise. One part you were skimpy on was your diet. Do you eat lots of white sugar (including foods that have white sugar in them), white flour, or lots of grain products? What is the difference in your diet between school and home, etc etc??? These things can play a big role and the difference in your eating habits may be the cause.

Many times people try to use herbs the same way medicos use pharmaceuticals and it just doesn't work that way. To relieve your symtoms I'd recommend Echinacea, Total Tonic and Mullein tea, but even tho these might give you great relief (may get rid of all symtoms for a while), it is still only a bandaid. Stronly suggest you look at your diet and changes in it from home to college for the source as that seems to be the main change. I've never heard of anyone being allergic to snow (frozen water) so I doubt it strongly.

Let me know what you think.

Love,

[herbal remedies] a handful (please help!)

Hi folksunfortunately, I have the same problems again as i first came to the list with. I am miserable and was hoping you guys could help me find some easy herbal cures. I'm a college student in a really really rural community - i have been looking for an herbalist in the area and there are none for hours so im just trying to research and deal with my health myself. Also, fresh herbs are pretty much out of the question for me and i am clueless as to dosages and where to purchase herbal remedies. I know there are places on the internet but i would love some recommendations for brands and specific names of things. Now for the symptoms... I think I'm allergic to snow, is that possible? I have been going to school in upstate NY for the past two years and every time i go back for spring semester (starting late january) i have horrible post nasal drip (to the point that it makes me nauseous) and allergies, the glands in my neck swell, tons of aching and pressure in the face (chronic sinusitisey), pressure and congestion between the ears, becoming ear infections. in the past i had used flonase and allegra D/claritin D to deal with it, but they caused way too many side effects. Also, i still had constant colds which would turn into sinusitis and ear infections which needed to be treated with antiobiotics. i also have horrible hay fever and allergies in the spring so i've been taking local honey and crossing my fingers, hoping it will be enough to keep me clear this allergy season. As for the weather (if that has anything to do with it), indoors it is warm and very dry and dusty (though im not allergic to dust); i tested positive for allergies to mold but i dont see how i could be exposed to mold in this climate. Outdoors, it is cold and snowy. I stopped drinking milk/eating dairy a while back and saw a huge difference in the nausea/post nasal drip department. So basically, I am hoping some of you can suggest herbal cures that you think would help, and could also be ordered right off of the internet. I saw previous posts about using mullein and garlic oil to treat ear infections; how can i get these and how do i use them?any advice would be so appreciated. i hope you're all welltake caremishaFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1.
