I send it because- I was confusing scotch broom and bucther broom- I

was glad to find a picture. So, does it grow in Fla.??? If so I want

some!!!- I don't think I have it near me. It didn't look familiar-

but so many other things I hav been looking up do- it exciting- I

need a book like you have for PA. The ID book I have doesn't have

great picture. June

Dear June,

There is a book by Audobon which lists all the plants on the East

coast (I think) with pictures of the flowers (colour coded). I haven't

seen the book but it was mentioned on the wild edibles list (the one

Steve Brill hosts - they guy who eats out of the Parks in New York and

keeps being arrested for trying to stop them spraying - quite a

character).

what I actually found in th eParks on my weekend Nature Romp was

Wild Batchelors Button (Polygala Nana) and some St. Peter's Wort (

Hypericum Tetrapetalum -that was a bonanza).......but I am still having

problems with all the daisies.

and, Rudbeckia - the " alternative " to Echinacea - is quite common.

I am just not sure if Rudbeckia hirta will have the same potentcy - well

we will see when my Root Tincture is ready!!

I noticed that Sneezeweed (Helenium flexuosum) has the same cone

shaped center in the flowers...Have you heard of it having any medicinal

use?...........Love Penny
