Guest guest
Hi, I sure hope someone can help me. The last few days my hands are wrinkled as though I had been sitting in water for hours. They are peeling like crazy, in big sheets in some places and little ones everythere. The only thing I can think of is that I have juiced a number of lemons lately, and perhaps the juice gets on my hands, and maybe this could do it? I sure hope that is it, because if it is not, yikes! Nothing else on my body is peeling (thank goodness), so it would at least " seem " that it would be a contact kind of thing rather than something I'm taking internally. It's really gross though. My friend said it looked just like hers did once when she had done a cleansing, and there was candida coming out. I wonder if anyone else has had something like this, and what you may have done to " fix " it. I haven't used lemons since this started, but when I do, I'll have to use plastic gloves to be safe. Would there be a particularly good cream or salve that I could make for this particular condition? Thanks for any ideas you have. Guest guest
Thanks, Sorcy. I remembered I had Shea butter when you mentioned it, so I slept with a ton of it on my hands with gloves covering them. I just took them off a couple of seconds ago, and they are still pretty moist. No, they don't FEEL wet and soggy; they just LOOK wet and soggy on the fingers where they are all shriveled. Everything is terribly dry. Since I do have jojoba, emu, comfrey, aloe, and chamomile e.o., as well as the Shea butter, I'll whip something up later. Maybe a cream or lotion for the day and a salve (which I've never made) for night with the gloves. I also have several of the herbs you mentioned, some of which I have been using in a tea lately since I had gotten sick. Anyway, many thanks for your suggestions. I'll follow up later today. Guest guest
--- " Krupa, Gabrielle Ms " > lucky you Yes, at the moment I am oil rich! Feels good! > be careful with the gloves... Yes, who knows, I guess I could end up being allergic to the material in the gloves too.....but really, they feel so " comforting " somehow. > bathing in strong tea/concoction might also soothe > since you have the C's'. I love this idea. I think that could be very beneficial. I'll definitely do this. Now for the embarrassing part. After all your wonderful help, I've been running crazy the last couple of days with my parents and haven't had the chance to make anything! I've been using all the oils, but separately, to see what I liked best for this condition in the meantime. Then a few hours ago my mate insisted that I call his friend, the ex-pharmacist, to see what he had to say. He suggests I use Aveeno. I know, I know...the only thing is I have used the bath stuff, and that stuff is great for psoriosis (which I have). I'll have to get my book out to see what all these ingredients actually ARE of course, because I have no idea. But in the meantime it does feel pretty soothing, and it soaks in quickly. > For salve, just thicken with beeswax... Thank you for this! I will definitely be doing this at a later time. > > Note: Never leave it alone (I just burned the same > batch tonight Grrr.....Don't you just hate that????? ) > Good luck, and yes, please keep us posted.... I'm > stumped to find out what > could possibly cause this.... Thanks, Sorcy. Well, nobody believes it is the lemon I was juicing. Now the REST of the information ) is I was sick for a couple of weeks and didn't feel really strong again until this past weekend.....I was just doing herbs and stuff but doing a LOT of them.....and for the last week I was making tea (frequently) with chickweed, comfrey, marshmallow, and slippery elm to help get up any remaining phlegm I had (great combination; it really helps a cough for me). Perhaps it was too much, and surely I wasn't drinking enough water in the beginning when I was first sick, or perhaps I'm allergic to one of those herbs. Or perhaps it's the boogies coming out of me! I just figured it had to be contact stuff since it was just my hands, but now it's SEVERAL people who have told me that they had the same thing with their hands when they had " stuff " coming out of them (though nobody remembers what they did about it, of course). So perhaps? > > eat flax and sesame seeds...... Thanks, Sorcy, for all your wonderful suggestions. You're so great, and always helpful.
