Guest guest
Dear Herbalists, I may be off- list to replies but I could NOT resist sending this TO the list,,,(he - hee). Have been tied to my computer all day WORKING with end of the month deadlines looming but wanted to just pass this on for comment........ (missing you all already) Women of the world unite! Sadly, the information below is true. The clinical name for both Prozac and Sarafem is fluoxetine hydrochloride. There is more information about the prescription of Prozac on this web page. http://www.prozacclinic.com/datasheet.html It would be a good idea to let your friends know about this. Boy, are these guys desparate..................Love Penny >-- Original Message ----- > > Allyne Rosenthal <allynerosenthal > > Sarafem > You have probably heard about Sarafem. This is the new name for Prozac which is being marketed to women for the trumped up diagnosis:- PMDD. > PMDD is of course nothing other than PMS. It was approved by the APA(AMerican Psychiatric Assoc) for inclusion as a mental illness after a long struggle in which it was bitterly opposed by many feminist groups. This July (the same month that Lilly lost the patent on Prozac) they got the FDA to approve Prozac for the treatment of PMDD and give it the trade name Sarafem. They made 2.9 billion dollars on Prozac and I think that this is how they plan to cover the decrease in revenue that will come from loosing the patent > They have launched a full scale advertising campaign, that is the most covert and manipulative campaign you can possible imagine. They are spending untold millions on it, and saturating all areas of the media. Their Web site is something to behold and will forever be thought of as the height of manipulative marketing deception. Their theme is that Sarafem helps you be more like the woman you are and they are positioning themselves as the company that is finally listening to the needs of women.> > I've send out a mailing to 1500 women in my database and am going to give the first of many talks on this subject and the natural treatment options for PMS. We all need to do whatever we can to get the word out about this > > Please go to the sarafem.com site and check it out. Then please pass this email on to everyone on your list. > Sincerely, > Allyne Rosenthal, D.C.
Guest guest
--- > GOOD Article Penny, I had just looked into that because my sister saw a commerical for Sarafem- Checked it out and it has the same chemical name as Prozac- This happens alot with the drug companies- they can have a drug with the same chemical name but has different brand names- One that comes to mind is Lithium- it is marketed under several different names- same drug.Just different name- thats why they have those little warnings on your drug bottles- " this medication may be a differnet color or shape then what you have been taking-but it is the same medication " . It's no wonder there are such major medication errors in hospitals and the likes. ENough about this- it frustrates me so much!! Thanks for taking the time to pass this along.
