Guest guest
I just got back from seeing my doctor thinking that my ear infection has not cleared up after 7 months. Well, I also have been extremely stuffed up as well. After x-rays of my sinuses they determined I have clear sinuses, no ear infections and that I have swollen nasal passages and TMJ. After stresses my frustrations out with my mother she told that I have always had that and when I was a little girl they wanted to do surgery but they didn't want to put me through that. Well, my insurance doesn't cover this and I am at wits end in pain with this nice thing. Is there any herbs that can help with this. I am already having to take lots of pills for nerve disease. I try not to use my pain medications and use hops and passion flower. But if you have had experience with this and any herbs that help please let me know. Thanks Gina
Guest guest
Fern and all who had advise. I really do appreciate all the advise you gave me. I am going to try and come up with the money for the bite guard for night and take the calcium treatments. I was thinking here and I think I do clench down at night. I called my hubby and he said that my face looks so stiff when I sleep. So that would explain it. My mother said that I was always in pain when I was a child that when they did the retainers it relieved a lot of that pain. I don't chew gum because of a crown that I have and I noticed it does hurt when I chew for a few minutes. I have had severe pain for 7 months now and thought it was a nasty sinus infection but turns out all the antibiotics they gave me didn't work because I have TMJ. Well, I called my doctor back and told him what mother said he really advised me to see an orthodontist, but the insurance thing there. I will have to save up to pay for it all. But I am also going to research this and see what I can come up with. But thank you. Now I have another thing to work on for meditation and relaxation. I do that for my nerve disease pain. I will let you all know if I come up with anything. Gina
Guest guest
Anne, I had a root canal on both the back teeth. Now thinking about it, it could have been the TMJ causing the pain. I had sinus x-rays today and they are completly clear. I wish it were that. That would be great to have something to clear the sinuses and take the pain out. But after talking to mom I was diagnosed at 7 with TMJ and that after having retainers it took the pain away till this past year. But I am going to talk to the dentist about getting the bite guard. But thanks for the suggestions. Gina
Guest guest
I also, have TMJ (temporomandibular joint). You can get this by muscle problems, (stress, teeth clenching), by bite problems, and by joint problems, (injuries, that may lead to arthritis). You can use ice and heat on jaw, you can get a bite guard from your dentist to wear at night, which keeps you from clenching your teeth, can get braces to correct your bite, and take muscle relaxer meds. Also, chewing gum aggrivates the TMJ. I used a bite guard for a while, and they wanted me to have braces, and I said no bec. of cost, and it is no guarantee. This information is from literature and info. from the dentist. If I can find info. on herbs for this, I will forward them on. I think, before any surgery, please get several opinions. I went to three different dental surgens, and they all had different opinions. Thats why I didn't do surgery etc. Take good care and have a great day. Guest guest
Sure you don't have tooth with a root problem? Since my abcess and possible root canal I have found out alot about root problems and sinus pain can be one if it is a root in the upper part of mouth. Just a thought Anne I really do appreciate all the advise you gave me. I am going to try and come up with the money for the bite guard for night and take the calcium treatments.
