Guest guest
What i do is keep an eye open for big spiral bound notebooks with big thick textured (not slick or smooth) pages in them. I bought a bunch of them before Christmas at a " Building 19 " here in New England. I carry one with me at all times for notes. When I find a plant for later ID (I still am a bit slow on shrubs and ferns) I spread it out on one of these pages and lightly tape it to a blank page. The thick rough paper absorbs the moisture. Before this, I used to carry old telephone books with me...they have absorbent pages, but the lack of rigid covers make them less suitable, as they kids of curl around and get lost with my *real* telephone books. Joanie ~~~~ If your nettle can't be identified due to spoilage maybe you could either scan another one or press it flat for shipping, that should keep it! ANyone know the best way to do Plant Pressing for Identification? Thanks, Jamie
