Guest guest
Dear Malinda, I did not do Yoga until last year. I just followed Erna Wrights Book on Natural Birth. I was very Athletic..... Here is the description of the exercise but it is not easy to show. It can be done in three positions. The first one is standing up with the knees slightly bent and the hands on the thighs. the second one is in the " camel " or all fours position the third one is in the lotus position. It is called the abdominal lift. Exhale Contract the abdominal muscles as much as possible. You can increase the contraction by first pushing out with the muscles then contracting... Do this untill you know the muscles you should control and can control them. Then contract the abdominal muscle and at the same time lift them up towards the ribs. do not breathe in . Keep the breath out and " snap' the abdomen out with a forceful push of the muscles. relax and repeat. do it several times in each position..........Love Penny (it is actually quite easy with practice but is better SHOWN then talked about...<grin>)
