Guest guest
First I would like to thank Laura for pointing out SJW is for situational depression. Since I have depression due to a chronic illness thought I needed to do some research and find the best herb for that. Below is what I found- hope it is helpful to all. June Vervain/Verbena officinalis- nourishing and balancing to the nervous system- gently relaxes- benefits depression related to chronic illness. Oats- tonic for nervous system- not only usd for depression but for anxiety, stress, fatigue and debility- Seeds have the strongest medicinal quailties- but a daily bowl of oatmeal will help in a pinch. Lavendar- relaxes and nourishing effect on the nervous system- will help sleep. It can be use as aromotherapy, tincture or tea. Ginkgo- increases blood flow to the brain and improves nerve cell function- enhances memory- excellent depression treatment where it may counteract age -related decreases in serotonin Swedishbitters- can help ease depression due to it's stimulating effect on digestive system. depression effects the whole body- and is not just a state of mind.Bitters improve endocrine and digestive processes - which in turn can lift energy Sunshine and exercise therapy- Sunshine is a great helper in helping serotonin remain in balance- People who suffer any form of depression- chronic, situational, age- related or seasonal effective disorder can get periods of releif from being exposed to sunshine. Exercise is also a mood elevator- something as simple as a walk can help stimulate serotonin levels.Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
