Dear Renee, Cholesterol is a liver/dietary product, not a product of the circulatory system. I don't have any data on hawthorn's effect on cholesterol levels, but my guess would be that, all by itself, it won't have much effect on cholesterol. Cholesterol levels are raised by stress (including chemical-induced stress from alcohol, caffeine and pharmaceutical drugs) and by diet. To lower your cholesterol, remove alcohol and caffeine from your diet, learn stress management techniques, get some exercise, and stick to a healthy diet (nix the white sugar, white flour, hydrogenated fats, etc. and get plenty of fresh veggies, fruits, whole grains and fiber). Take care, Laura
