Guest guest
I have no idea about the leaves. Where did you get your plant? I would NOT dig it up. I would just get more roots or root powder, or experiment with the leaves. Tasting it. Tiny bit of leaf. Now..this plant is in the black pepper family...berries and roots are all that I KNOW about in that family. I would do a search on the genus name, Piper, and with the words Leaf or leaves...see what comes up..any reasons NOT to taste them. Someday I will transcribe my notes...right now I have no idea where they are~~ Gotta go pick up one of my kids now,,,,Joanie >Dear Joannie, > Would love to know the notes you had from the class........are you >SURE that there is no effect from the leaves?....Love Penny (loooking at >her Kava Kava mother plant and wondering if she should REALLY dig it >up?) Guest guest
Thanks, Penny...so I take it you are in Florida? Frost... Here it was below zero F when I got up...would be about 20 below zero C (I did not look close because the school bus as coming). I know kava would not like it outdoors. But I have a source for roots, a few with sprouts some years...so if you have tips for growing, it would be nice. Your plant can be growing profusely, but it is planted, not growing wild. Endangered plants are those still growing wild, untouched by " man " ...but becoming very scarce. My Samoan friends told me that there are no more growing wild like that..but all kava now has been planted, or is growing from others that have been planted..in case this is unclear. I am " in tune " sometimes, but not all the time. Before my house was burned down I went around telling everyone who would listen that my house was going to be burned down, in hopes of getting the " powers " that be to keep an eye on those who I knew were going to be involved. When it happened I went into a kind of shock....and am not sure I am out of it yet....so I am just not sure how " in tune " I am now, or have been in the past 3 years...Trying to get back into the " flow " of it...but it just has to return in its own I guess..I cannot force it...BUT, being OUT of shock is what i need. Gotta run back upstairs and help the plumber now..Joanie (who knows there are more on-list and off-list posts to respond to..I just need to roll things around in my mind before I answer sometimes) > Are you on the wavelength of my Kava Kava ? I went over to look at >it and it definitely said to me " I have survived the frost and now you >want to dig meup? Give mea break..
