Guest guest
Dear LInda, Unfortunately, when the " wanted characteristic " is " found " in one species - it is attached to two " things " . The wanted DNA is attached to a Marker which is a virus that is antibiotic resitant (so that antibiotics won't kill it and the acientists canfind where it went) Then, it is attached to a tumerous or cancerous DNA from the intended host. These last two items are ALIVE. They then atatach to the HOST DNA and form a new characteristic. This characteristic, AS WELL AS THE ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT VIRUS AND THE CANCEROUS OR TUMOUR DNA is in EVERY CELL of the Host. We eat the host. So guess where the antibiotic resistant virus and cancerous DNA have a chance to " go play " ?????????? Check out the web sites. For more horror storeis. Like the TERMINATOR gene which the seeds producers want to put in ALL the grains so that the farmer cannot save the seeds from his crop. THE TERMINATOR GENE IS ALREADY IN USE AND WILL ENSURE THAT ANY SEED PRODUCED BY THAT PARTICULAR GRAIN WILL BE STERILE. The farmer will be unable to save seeds. so he will have to buy more from the supplier EVERY YEAR. Will make the chemical companies very rich. One small hitch. Most of the grains that we use once came from the wild grasses. So, what if the seed from the Terminator grains actually mixed with the wild grassea and made them sterile tooo????????? Any one of you have any ideas what can then happen???????? Or, would you be will ing to see America turn into another Sahara Dessert? .................Love Penny (astride her Organic Consumers Percheron and CHARGING)
