This looks a lot like one of the native cacti we saw in Arizona. A previous neighbor in central Texas had one in his cactus garden. It definitely does not look like the native prickly pear we have in central Texas, which has large flat leaves with multiple clusters of thorns, a beautiful large yellow flower which later turns into a purple sweet fruit about the size of a large egg (shaped similarly, too). Keep us posted - thanks! Nancy
