Guest guest
Dear Jane, The quickest way is to make a paste of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and put over all the burn. Let it dry overnight . It will flake off in the bed and you will have no burn in the morning. If it is really bad, soak a clean cotton flannel in a bicarb and water solution and place the cold flannel on the face. Douse it with new solution so that it does not dry until the pain has gone. Give the person plenty of fluids to handle the shock and NO heavy meals. chicken soup would be ideal as well as juices but not too much sugar..........Love Penny(an old surfer, sailor and kayaker who took two vital ingredients with her - bicarbonate of soda and meat tenderizer. Most stings are protein so a bit of spit and meat tenderizer work wonders.)
