I was always a white bread girl. Since all the changes I have found Spelt bread to be delicious and healthy. It is pretty easy to find in organic as well. If your really stubborn atleast use unbleached flours.

For sweetner, if needed, I use grade B Organic Pure Maple Syrup. From the source I buy it by the gallon for 24.00 plus shipping... It almost tastes like a carmalized sugar... A little goes a very long way! If I really must use a sugar I use organic evaporated cane juice.

I drink no soda or caffine products, I use organic decaf tea whenever possible. I drink lots of spring water and fresh organic lemonade sweetened with the syrup.

I juice everyday a minimum of 1 quart. I also take the Total Nutrition, I just mix it up in a glass of lemonade, delicious! I do make the lemon egg as well and usually add it in my fresh juice.

I have found healthy organic snacks like pretzels and soy nuts for snacks. Lot's of tasty healthy snacks are out there if desired.

Call your local Agricultural Dept, they will have a list of Organic farmers markets in your area. Great way to buy excellent fruits and veggies. The one I go to weekly also has organic beef, chicken, salsa's, tortillas, etc. I try not to eat a lot of meat anymore but if I do I want organic. By the way I read chicken has a lot more parasites than beef.... I would have never guessed!

If you do make changes you will find you spend no more money because your not overeating and wasting money on junk food, soda, etc.

I home can my organic goodies as well. Makes for a healthy organic fast food or soup! Eliminate as many excuses for eating out the junk food! Home canning is easy and it is as healthy as you want it to be. You can Can lots of quick organic foods... For all you guys out there what about organic sloppy joes... see what I mean, you can have the occasional junk but in healthy organic form. I have also made the Zuppa Toscana soup from Olive Garden with organic foods and canned it, yummy. I can lots of foods. I eat much more Raw foods as well.... I feel this is important.

I hope this tid bit of some of my own changes can help someone else. If I can change anyone can. Be strong, Throw Away all the chemicals in your house and use safe & non toxic products <baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, etc> You will be healthier and save a ton of money. Don't get caught up in a "name brand" specialty line just use the simple basics for cleaning... try this simple tip: Laundry use 1 cup baking soda in the wash. If you desire to soften clothes add 1 cup white vinegar in the rinse. For white clothes add 1 cup Borax. You will never use laundry soaps, softners, and spot cleaners again! Cream of Tarter is great for spot cleaning clothes too.

This is getting to be a long email! But wait there's more!

About me, I am 31 and a Happily married mother of 1 boy, 11 years old who attends a small Christian school. My husband's name is Dan, 39. I was a Plumber for several years, which I enjoyed more than you would think. I grew up on a big farm in Illinois but have lived in Arizona since I was 16. I am a graduate of "Scottsdale Culinary Institute" <Doc Ian have you ever been there??> It is now part of the Cordon Bleu <sp> program. I Love to Cook! <Bad Thing sometimes> I have had servere neurological problems on & off in my life and as of now have a good handle on them Thanks to God and learning about organics and herbal medicene. Doc Ian has helped me with his products Bunches!!! I am making tinctures and such on my own too of which I am very proud of myself. Since all of my health troubles and I had to switch my line of work, atleast for awhile, right now I manage senior 55+ mobile home parks. I can be home so much and if needed can rest more and work when I want to. Sounds easy but winters are sooooo busy.

PS I am still Wildcrafting Chaparral and Prickly Pear Cactus if anyone wants to trade.

Well now you all know a little more about me. I could write for hours on my own medical problems and how I am overcoming them but this seemed more important.

You have all taught me so much and for that I am Thankful. :)

God Bless,

Jamie

Re: [herbal remedies] urinary infection-- now it's yeast infection

Yes the shot gun approach is the best on this one.

Lots of Garlic, Echinacea (got to break from this one once in a while), and other herbs can help dramatically. I'll leave Penny or Sorcy or June or ... to break it down for you. I'd watch the colloidal silver, my research (which is very far from complete) indicates so far that in small quantities it can be beneficial, however I'm concerned about the long term effects and so therefore do not recommend it at this time. I know this answer is very inadequate but I'd need to type for a couple of hours to give you all the background on what I say. In a nut shell, after heavy metals go through your system (doing either good or bad) they then lodge in the fatty tissues of the body where they are held in suspension. My main concern is the long term build up of the silver and the fact that it is NOT natural. Biochemistry is the wave of the future so I do not rule out the possibilities. I would be more inclined to go with a Chelated Silver than a colloidal, but I'm watching that one too.

Another main thing to look at is things that you're doing that you shouldn't be doing. Foods your eating you shouldn't be, like white sugar, white flour, soda pops, etc. These are food for Yeast conditions and they really thrive in that environment.

I don't mean to confuse you even further, but I hope the above helps somewhat. You need to focus on nutrition here as well as an herbal program.

Love,

Doc

[herbal remedies] urinary infection-- now it's yeast infection

As we were a bit slow to get the act together trying to learn about the natural ways of curing urinary tract infection- we resortedto the M.D.'s prescription. Alas! It created a yeast infection on its heels. We had a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE time getting rid of thiswhen it first reared its ugly head two or three years ago. Several M.D. visits later and no satisfaction had us turning to any naturalmethods we could find anywhere. We have now tried garlic insertion for over a week to no avail. My daughter's symptoms remain. I'm thinking of trying to make colloidal silver next for her to drink. Is this ok? Should I be doing a "shotgun approach" with other things as well?I'm a novice at this herb stuff- trying to learn on my own afterrepeated failures on several counts by M.D.'s.Just want to say how much I appreciate the help this list has been and things I've picked up in learning. Still a bit over my head at times though, but slowly learning more.marrgillFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2.
