Guest guest
Hi, When I had a urinary tract infection, Doc advised me to make a mixture of Uva Ursi leaves and the silk from organic corn. I blended it with water and then boiled it for 15 minutes into a tea form. I drank a few cups during the day and I felt much better. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Cranberry Juice works well. Make sure there is no addes sugar (100% juice) laura_e25 [laura_e23] Friday, November 14, 2003 6:27 AM herbal remedies [herbal remedies] urinary tract infection hi, i'm wondering if someone can give me advice for a friend that is really trying to not take antibiotics in order to treat her urinary tract infection. i tried doing a search but came up with nothing, though i'm sure that this has been discussed before...in fact i remember it being discussed but i didn't pay any attention b/c i've never gotten a u.t.i...dumb. anyway a little background...this girl's diet is fairly good but not perfect...biggest detriments are she smokes and drinks too much coffee...she is vegetarian...pretty close to vegan...i suggested that she go raw foods at least until this is over and gave her the recipe for total tonic, which she made last night. i know there are many long term lifestyle dietary changes that are in order and perhaps some cleanses as well...but i guess for right now i am looking for the short term help with this infection...are there other herbs that she should add in...she is already drinking a lot of 100% cranberry juice...i think i remember uva ursi (forget how it's spelled) being good...any other suggestions...i know her and i know what she'll realistically do right now...she will change her diet to raw... but she won't give up the coffee and she wouldn't do a cleanse right now...but she would make herbal teas...i don't know...let me know what you think. thanks. luv laura Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
Years ago I read that blueberry juice will actually cure a uti or bladder infection, while cranberry juice is better for prevention. The blueberry juice really works! If it is too strong (hubby thinks it is), then mix it with another juice. It works quicker than anything I have ever tried.
