The highest risk for pre-ec is the 1st pg with a partner. Symptoms: protein in the urine, high blood pressure (HBP), hands and feet swelling. Flu symptoms should NOT be ignored, they are signs of eclampsia. June wrote: > DIET- what has she been eating? How is her stress level? Restricting salt from the pg diet makes pre-eclampsia worse. Salt restriction is for HBP disorder NOT pre-ec. pg women! Same symptom, **different** cause. Diet is honestly the BEST course of correction and it will be corrected if caught early enough. Protein, water, salt and lots of protein, of course balanced with other food groups. diet: http://www.parentsplace.com/pregnancy/nutrition/gen/0,3375,8467,00.html medical info: http://www.blueribbonbaby.org/ -- Danielle Curby Hegdale <dhegdale Tulsa, OK --------------------------
Guest guest
Good point Danielle- But in the first post SHE didn't state she had pre-eclampisa- Just stated high blood pressure- Which may have not been induced by pregnancy....I also directed her to talk to her mid-wife about causes- HBP in pregnancy isn't always pre- eclampisa. Mom has taken suggestions she thought were best and is using them for her daughter- Which I hope helps so she can have a wonderful - beautiful home-birth. And as for treating symptoms and not looking for cause- way off course -Since I did say to talk to mid-wife.And as for my post it was personnal adivse not medical. I myself was on bed-rest for over 3 months with my last baby- Why- HBP- brought on by my diet. Which included salt restrictions- I don't treat anyone on this list or off- I try to help with personnal experiances of my own and then only suggest- each person has to do what is best for themselves.
