Guest guest
I want to make an echinacea tincture, and would like to know what kind to put in, and if there is anything else I can put with the echinacea. I would only take the tincture when immune system is down, or catching a cold or flu, (which I had only 1 flu in 14 years, and only 3 colds) knock on wood!!!! Thank you all. Take good care. Guest guest
I prefer the roots for the tincture and the leaves, stems and flowers for tea. However you could use them for a tincture as well. Guest guest
So, I guess it doesn't matter what Echinacea Root I use? Angustifolia, or purpurea, and I think there is one more. Or should I combine all three? I have David Hoffmans book, Dr. Christopher's book, and Ed Smith's book, and they are different, and I am to inexperienced to know what is right or best, so I ask you guys. Take good care. Guest guest
Thank you. I will try to do that, (get all three and some seeds as well). Take good care. Love, Renee and Jerry

I am experimenting this year with tincturing angustifolia roots, purpurea leaves and flowers, purpurea roots, and purpurea seeds. I have some of them started and then when they are all done, I will see which ones are the most powerful. I am hoping I will be able to use my own E. purpurea exclusively. My echinacea angustifolia plants are small, and don't grow well here and that is the reason for trying to use purpurea only.............Joan ************************* joanr My Country Garden http://mycountrygarden.net
Guest guest
Is it just the root that is mainly used for Echinacea Tincture ? What about the leaves?
